1. Who we are

JustSimple Reminder is an alarm-style reminder application for Android, developed and published by JustSimpleSoft as an independent developer. Questions about this policy can be directed to JustSimpleSoft@proton.me.

Your reminders stay on your device. We do not operate servers that store your personal reminders or alarm data.

2. Data stored on your device

All reminder data is stored exclusively in a local database on your device using Room (Android SQLite). This includes:

Reminder title
Scheduled date and time
Recurrence setting (once / daily / weekly / monthly)
Enabled / disabled state
Snooze history

Your display preferences (time format, app language) are stored locally using Android DataStore. None of this data is transmitted to us or any third party.

3. Third-party services

The app integrates two third-party SDKs. Each is described below with the data it processes and a link to its own privacy policy.

3a. RevenueCat Premium plan only

RevenueCat handles in-app subscription purchases (the Premium plan). When you make or restore a purchase, RevenueCat receives:

An anonymous app user ID generated by RevenueCat (no name or email)
Your purchase receipt from the Google Play Store
Device locale and platform (Android)

RevenueCat does not receive your reminder content or alarm data. If you never purchase Premium, RevenueCat is not contacted.

3b. Google AdMob Free plan only

The free plan displays banner advertisements served by Google AdMob. To show relevant ads, Google may collect:

Advertising ID (resettable in Android settings)
General device and network information
Approximate location (country / region level)
Ad interaction events (impressions, clicks)

Upgrading to Premium permanently removes all ads and stops AdMob from being loaded. You can also reset or opt out of personalised ads at any time in Android Settings → Google → Ads.

4. Data we do not collect

Your name, email address, or any contact information
Your location
Your contacts, calendar, or files
Your reminder titles or alarm times (these never leave your device)
Crash reports or analytics (no analytics SDK is used)
Any data from children or any data we are unaware of

5. Android permissions used

The app requests only the permissions necessary to deliver alarm functionality. No permission is used to collect or transmit personal data.

SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM / USE_EXACT_ALARM

Fires reminders at the exact time you set.

USE_FULL_SCREEN_INTENT

Shows the alarm screen when the device is locked.

WAKE_LOCK

Wakes the screen briefly when an alarm fires.

VIBRATE

Vibrates on alarm delivery.

System events

RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED

Re-schedules alarms after the device restarts.

REQUEST_IGNORE_BATTERY_OPTIMIZATIONS

Requests exclusion from battery saver so alarms fire on time.

Notifications

POST_NOTIFICATIONS

Shows the alarm notification (Android 13+).

FOREGROUND_SERVICE / FOREGROUND_SERVICE_SPECIAL_USE

Keeps the alarm delivery service running reliably.

Network (third-party SDKs only)

INTERNET / ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE

Used by RevenueCat and AdMob. Not used by the app itself.

6. Data retention & deletion

Because all reminder data lives exclusively on your device, you control it entirely:

Delete individual reminders at any time from within the app.
Uninstalling the app removes the local database and all preferences immediately.
To delete data held by RevenueCat or Google, follow the links in Section 3 to exercise your rights under their policies.

7. Children's privacy

JustSimple Reminder is not directed at children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through a third-party SDK embedded in this app, please contact us and we will take appropriate action.

8. Security

Reminder data is stored in a private application directory accessible only to this app (Android sandboxing). The app does not transfer reminder data over any network. For data processed by RevenueCat or AdMob, please refer to their respective security documentation.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, the Last updated date at the top of this page will change. Significant changes will be noted in the app's store listing. Continued use of the app after a policy update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
